KINKEAD RIDGE WINERY AND VALLEY VINEYARDS INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED IN NOVEMBER WITH PRESTIGIOUS DOUBLE GOLD MEDAL

Kinkead Ridge Estate Winery and Valley Vineyards garnered Double Gold Medals in the 2006 American Wine Society International Commercial Competition, held in Baltimore on November 8 and 9. Kinkead Ridge received the Double Gold Medal for their 2004 Cabernet Franc and Valley Vineyards for their NV Honey Mead. Of the 1,010 entries and 695 medals presented to wines from all over the world, only 3 wines received the Double Gold Medal honor. Kinkead Ridge also won a Silver medal for their 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon, a Bronze for their 2004 Syrah, and a Bronze for their River Village Cellars white wine blend.
In the just released 2007 Wine Report paperback, edited by international wine writer Tom Stephenson, the 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon was rated Number 2 in the Top Ten List of Most Exciting Wines from the Atlantic Northeast region, which includes, New York, Kentucky, Michigan and Indiana as well as Ohio.
Kinkead Ridge was recently featured in a cover story of Our Ohio magazine, published by the Farm Bureau. ThinkTV, a PBS affiliate, filmed the Kinkead Ridge harvest for a special which will be aired on PBS stations in January.
