Ohio Food and Wine Festival in Columbus Historic North Market

One of Columbus' favorite summer events returns to the historic North Market July 13 thru July 15. The Ohio Food and Wine Festival brings Ohio's bounty from the fields, farms and vineyards for tastings and enjoyment. This is the 6th annual event and 15 of Ohio's nearly 100 wineries will be presenting vintages for tastings and for purchase. National City Bank sponsors this event in Columbus and a similar event in Dayton in June. Each combines local food, wine and entertainment for a festive and fun occasion. On Friday the 13th, the festival will open with a Preview Party from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Tickets cost $20 and include a wine glass and ten tasting tickets. Additional tickets may be purchased at the event. Discounted tickets may be purchased at National City Bank branches for $15. Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 visitors can pick up fresh local foods and match with local wines.Throughout the weekend the following wineries from around Ohio will offer select wines by the taste (50 cents to $1.00 each), glass, bottle and case: Chalet Debonne Vineyard, Madison; Ferrante Winery, Geneva; Firelands Winery, Sandusky; Henke Winery, Cincinnati; Maize Valley Winery, Hartville; Markko Vineyard, Conneaut; Mon Ami Winery, Port Clinton; Ravens Glen Winery, West Lafayette; Slate Run Vineyard, Canal Winchester; St. Joseph Vineyards, Thompson; Stoney Ridge Winery, Bryan; Troutman Vineyards, Wooster; The Winery at Wolf Creek, Norton; Valley Vineyards, Morrow and Viking Vineyard, Kent. Family fun, fresh food, fabulous wines make for a terrific outing to Columbus' North Market.
